Cinder Well is the haunting folk project of singer and multi-instrumentalist Amelia Baker. Born out of a collective love of 1970’s folk-rock, traditional ballads, and dance music of America, Ireland, and Scandinavia, Cinder Well’s sound is at once provoking and nostalgic. Their new full-length album The Unconscious Echo features seven original songs blending harmony vocals, resonator guitar, viola, fiddle, upright bass, and shruti box drones.

Amelia is joined by folk and punk music veterans of the Pacific Northwest and Norway: Marit Schmidt (Vradiazei, Sangre de Muerdago, Disemballerina), Mae Kessler (Ekstasis), Magnus Nymo (Blackbird Raum, Lyngfarer, REGN), Pete Olynciw, (Blackbird Raum, Woodspider, Blato Zlato), and CPN (Scissorbills, Blackbird Raum).

Cinder Well’s new full-length album The Unconscious Echo is available May 11th, 2018.

Landless are Ruth Clinton, Meabh Meir, Sinead Lynch and Lily Power. They sing unaccompanied traditional songs from Irish, Scottish, English and American traditions in close four part harmony. Their repertoire features songs of love, death and lamentation, as well as work songs, shape-note hymns and more recently penned folk songs. Landless have performed in a variety of settings, both in Ireland and abroad, and are closely involved with traditional singing sessions in Dublin and Belfast.

Landless released their debut album Bleaching Bones in March this year. Recorded by John ‘Spud’ Murphy (Lankum/Katie Kim) of Guerrilla Studios across a series of reverb-heavy historic churches across Ireland (and the occasional underground tunnel), Bleaching Bones is an immaculately performed & deeply moving record. With only the natural room sound as accompaniment, Landless, with the help of producer/engineer/mixer Murphy, have created a timeless folk classic that will appeal equally to fans of early 4AD records as it will to lovers of folk & traditional music. In addition to older pieces Bleaching Bones also includes more recent songs by Liam Weldon & Peggy Seeger’s The Ballad Of Springhill.
