What's Cooking Sunday 4/8: Anything But Pretty Presents: Spokane Word, CELLMATES: HIGH SCHOOL, A Day in the Life

-----------

Anything But Pretty Presents: Spokane Word
"SLAM. Poets have three minutes to move you. SLAM. Audience members have seconds to judge you. SLAM. Which characters will live on to become the Anything But Pretty Spokane Word Champion?
As with any improv show, the audience meets a whole cast of characters by the end of the night. What happens, though, when the audience gets to see these beloved - or not so beloved - characters pour their hearts (or their guts) out at a local poetry slam? Dim the lights, snap your fingers, and harness your inner judgement to declare the Anything But Pretty Spokane Word Champion. "

CELLMATES: HIGH SCHOOL
Cellmates improv explores the parental pressures, struggle for popularity and chronic embarrassment that is high school. Join the Cellmates as they enter the world of academic, athletic and social pressures that make up every high school.

A Day in the Life
Ever wonder what your favorite improvisers do when they’re not at 40 Prospect? Performers capture moments doing what they love--from curious hobbies to intriguing day jobs--for a glimpse into their lives outside the theater (if they have one). These video shorts will be used to inspire scenes for a group to perform.

-----------
Twice a week, ImprovBoston presents an experimental show featuring two to three indie comedy acts. The Lab is dedicated to showcasing improv, sketch, stand up and variety projects in-development. A mad comedy experiment, the Lab is where some of New England's most successful shows began.

Comedy Lab is produced by Chloe Zwiacher, Ramy Abdelghani, Shannon Nolan, Joe Szafarowicz, and Marissa Farmer
