Puppets, gunge and big smiles: Children’s Television is such a wonderfully weird world to be a part of. It’s looked upon simultaneously as an endgame mega-goal by aspiring presenters and a career dead-end by snooty so-and-so’s. But in an overwhelmingly cynical and increasingly cold media landscape, it’s comforting to know that some daft formats continue on.
Chris Johnson (CBBC’s ‘Yonko’) sits down with fellow presenters and performers from the Kid’s TV world to find out how on earth they ended up there themselves, and what advice they’d give to the next generation of Dick & Doms. Stories about the perils of live television, globetrotting quests to strange destinations, award show gossip, and all from the mouths of the humans themselves. And maybe a talking cactus.
7pm start. 2 x 45 mins with 15 mins interval. Second half will contain a Q&A portion. Meet & greet opportunities after the show. Games and nonsense guaranteed.
