Little Inventors is the brainchild of Sunderland born inventor and designer, Dominic Wilcox. Little Inventors aim is to inspire and support children around the world to use their wonderful imaginations to think up ingenious, fantastical, funny or perfectly practical invention ideas with no limits!
This year they have set the challenge to children across the North to come up with their ideas for life in 2030. Creative Producer, Jill Bennison, will talk about the project and show a few of the 2000 ideas submitted. The best ones will be chosen to be made into real objects and included in the Little Inventors exhibition in the Discovery Museum as part of the Great Exhibition of the North.
Plus singalong pop songs, laughs, inspiring stories, friendship and refreshments. Donations of sweet and (especially) savoury items for the pay-as-you-feel cafe and volunteers on the day all very much welcomed!
Help often is part of the Sunday Assembly motto. So we collect longlife food, hygiene items, clothing, blankets etc for local food banks and charities. If you can, please bring a donation.
Free entry: Doors 11.30am, Assembly 12-1pm, social time till just before 2 (when we leave The Core's staff to enjoy their Sundays!). Kids are very welcome to Assembly and to join other junior Assemblers in writing next month's story.
*****Sunday Assembly is free to attend and runs entirely on donations. Please leave a small donation in the jar at the cafe if you can, to keep it free for those who can't.*****
*****The volunteer organisers rely entirely on social media and word of mouth to build the community. Please help us by RSVPing on our Facebook event, sharing it and inviting your friends.*****
Take part: We are always looking for speakers, photographers, people to head up small groups (book club! film club!) and so on. If you have ideas and want to get involved, email email@example.com, Facebook message us, or speak to a team member.
Your community: Use our social group to start SAN clubs, organise community service Live Better projects, arrange meetups, create events - it's up to you! www.facebook.com/groups/973950896046344/.

WHAT IS SUNDAY ASSEMBLY?
The Sunday Assembly is an international secular community that celebrates life. We meet regularly to help people Live Better, Help Often and Wonder more. We are radically inclusive, so everyone is welcome.
Sunday Assembly Newcastle gets together (usually) the second Sunday of the month to enjoy presentations, performances and interesting. It’s relaxed, fun, free and uplifting. There's music and singing (pop songs, not hymns!), creative stuff for kids, tea, coffee and homemade cakes.
OUR VENUE is in The Core at Science Central, just off St James Boulevard on Bath Lane. The closest Metro and parking is at St James. On-site parking is limited but there are disabled spaces – request entrance using the car park intercom. Call The Core during office hours on 0191 4957300 for more info. www.thecorenewcastle.co.uk/location/
We thank the Core at Science Central for providing us with a free venue. But not everything is free, so to help cover running costs we ask Assemblers for a small donation (only what you can afford!) at each Assembly. You can find the donation tin on the cake table.
The only real way to understand Sunday Assembly is to experience it for yourself, so we hope to see you and yours at Sunday Assembly!
