EX Inspirals Carpet frontman Tom Hingley storms The Cove during Madchester Weekend on Saturday, April 21.
One of the city’s most prolific and influential indie bands during a glory era in the early 1990s, hits such as ‘This is How It Feels’, ‘Saturn 5’ and ‘Dragging Me Down’s put them alongside the likes of The Stone Roses and Happy Mondays.
25 years and 15 top 40 singles later, he continues to enjoy a successful solo career - consistently touring the UK and beyond.
Expect an eclectic mix of folk, soul, gospel and blues with tons of heart plus a few acoustic renditions of Inspiral classics.
Either side, we’ll pay tribute to Manchester and the days of legendary The Haçienda club with tracks from the likes of the Roses, Mondays, James, New Order, The Smiths, Oasis and Hingley’s old roadie Noel Gallagher.
Live from around 9pm, tickets are £2 and available on line.
It’s also potentially a massive weekend for both Manchester clubs.
United need to get past Spurs in a mouth-watering FA Cup semi-final on the Saturday (KO 5.15pm).
Neighbours City could be parading the title on the following day - against Spurs (KO 4.30pm).
Both games will be live across multiscreen over 2 floors.
