The Russian Playwright Anton Chekhov has always been an institution for all theatre artists, directors and writers. The author of anecdote, Chekhov have always been very modern, humorous and with great relativity.
The Marriage Proposal was written in the year 1888-89, but still gives the nuisances of our day to day life, romance and society.
The story is based on a marriage proposal for the daughter of Stepan Stepanovitch by the neighbour Ivan, which soon turns into an argument between neighbour, daughter and the father giving a funny situation when they take out the issues related to their forefathers, dogs and lands they are owning.
As a group we have tried to re-write the play based on improvisations and humour we see in the day to day life. Its a light hearted comedy English play for the audience of all ages.
