Salena Godden is one of the country's foremost performers and regular headliner at literary and music festivals, topping the bill nationally and internationally. She published her childhood memoir Springfield Road (2014) and the poetry collections Fishing In The Aftermath and Under The Pier. Her essay Shade featured in 2016 literary sensation The Good Immigrant (Unbound) which won the 2016 Book Of the Year Readers Choice award. Her performance of her poem Titanic featured in BBC spoken word programme We Belong Here. She's a regular guest on British radio, creates her own radio programs, and teaches writing in high schools. The brand new live spoken word album LIVEwire has attracted rave reviews since it's launch in autumn 2016 via indie poetry label Nymphs and Thugs, including a 5 star review in The iPaper.
We're also bringing you The Bookie Slam. 10 poets will battle it out in a heated contest, all in a bid to be declared the first ever Kentish Poetry Champion! (We have a belt and everything!)
