The Fuller Projects presents Say My Name, a collection of works by Sarah Lasley and Tim Schmidt.
Show begins at 7:30pm
Say My Name juxtaposes materials and concepts that question the naming and control of nature in American culture and mythology. Schmidt's sculptural work sits between sunset and architecture, refraction and containment, ephemera and permanence, and Lasley's video installation aims to unearth the nature of Nature before she was conquered and co-opted as an extension of man's ego. Sarah Lasley is a filmmaker and Lecturer of Interactive Multimedia in Digital Art at SOOA+D. Tim Schmidt is an artist and the co-founder of Black Vulture Project, a multidisciplinary residency and community-based art program in Paoli, Indiana.
The Fuller Projects is an exhibition venue with the primary mission of providing contemporary emerging artists with the opportunity to propose, create and present new work. This is a venue where artists are able to experiment with concepts, materials, working processes and audience interaction, which may fall outside of their normal practice. Established in 2002 by Indiana University School of Fine Arts students and located in the McCalla Sculpture building. The Fuller Projects encourages dialogue on art within the university, the community of Bloomington, and the contemporary art field.
