Chinabot is positioned at the junction point between the influence of Asian music on contemporary/traditional sounds, music outside the mainstream and the development of experimentation.

Come to celebrate Khmer New Year and get your copy of Mental Maps, our last compilation!

Music by

Samboleap Tol (Cambodia)
Khmer music
"I am your Cambodian wedding DJ. Expect me to be your annoying auntie to pressure you into dancing with me. You have to, it's Cambodian New Year!

This set is a tribute to my dear friend Channthy Kak, lead singer of the Cambodian Space Project, who tragically passed away earlier this month in a traffic accident."

Saphy Vong (Cambodia)
Saphy Vong founded the platform Chinabot for the Asian electronic community. It acts as a digital diaspora and should prevent misrepresentations and facilitate direct exchange. As Lafidki, he weaves ideas from Asian traditions together with elements from synthwave, hypnagogic pop, and psychedelic noise. Tribal beats and pop sounds give his music a shrill lustre and playful character. But Lafidki’s experimental lo-fi electronics can also be interpreted as a conglomerate of histories under-represented in Western clubs.

Cường Pham (Vietnam)
Cường will be playing a set of rock and pop vinyl records from southeast Asia, some of which are very hard to find

Chinabot is a space for Asian artists to play with their ideas and cultural hybridities. By doing so we hope to create another narrative in contemporary music from Asia and its diaspora.

THE QUIETUS
"A stellar beginning to a new project well worth keeping an eye on as it gathers speed"

MIXMAG
"Each track on the compilation has its own unique cultural identity through contributions from Asian artists"

BANDCAMP
"The Chinabot Label Is Uniting Asia’s Next Generation of Electronic Experimentalists."

YEAH I KNOW IT SUCKS
"It really brings history into the future."
