Cress Wine Design and Montperi Catering and Events present The Secrets to Food & Wine Pairing - featuring Napa Valley great, Cain Vineyard & Winery. We're stoked to have wine-grower Christopher Howell joining us for five courses, prepared by Chef Lamont Perriman, and five wines from one of the greats in the Napa Valley AVA.
For those of you that love red wine, this is your workshop. You'll get a chance to try three current releases and two rare wines from the cellar. These wines are dynamic, with gorgeous California fruit, and an earthiness that rivals Bordeaux.
Sommelier Patrick Cress will facilitate the discussion of why Cain wines go so well with food, and, in particular, why they go so well with specific dishes we've selected.
You can bet chef Lamont is inspired to match these great wines with his own take on savory foods.
We'll also taste and talk about how a wine changes with age, and how we pair foods differently with younger, versus more mature wines. You'll have a chance to meet Chris and ask him specific questions about his vast experience in the wine business.
Beginners to sommeliers are welcome. The dialogue is richest when we have a wide variety of experience levels in the same room.
