Heidi Skoog of artisan jam company Serious Jam will show you how to use a few simple techniques to turn fall fruits into silky smooth butters, no actual butter required. You can use these luscious spreads on bread, as part of a cheese platter, or sandwiched in a special holiday cake. Heidi will teach you what produce you can turn into butters, how to flavor them, and which can be safely canned. This class will use some cooking show magic to condense the lengthy (but hands-off) process into an hour and a half so that you can go through the steps from start to finish with an expert leading the way. Each participant will go home with a small jar each of pumpkin butter and apple butter.
