In conjunction with International Mother Earth Day, this month we have a special three-in-one Habitalk and Walk on 21 April 2018 from 5.00 pm featuring three talented scientists based at Universiti Sains Malaysia. Come be inspired by their enthusiasm for their individual research specializations.
The focus is on the Biodiversity at our Doorstep, highlighting the diversity of life which thrives both in the rainforest and right under our noses!
With Dr Faradina Merican as our guide, we will get a glimpse into the amazing world of algae. Find out why the study of algae is proving to be one of the most dynamic areas of scientific exploration.
Dr Rosnida Tajuddin helps us explore the fascinating world of fungi. Often some of the most captivating species decorating the forest floor, find out about the roles fungi play in forest ecology.
Our third presenter, Ms Priscillia Miard will speak on some of the adorable animals that are only active at night. Her research on nocturnal mammals is helping to illuminate our understanding of these cryptic creatures. You will learn about how new technologies are helping to locate them at night and giving us new understanding of their behaviour and ecology. This talk is timed to conclude as daylight begins to fade and there is a very special opportunity for 12 curious explorers to follow Priscillia and The Habitat guides on a night walk to spot animals. Register early to secure your place! Six spots are reserved for Inhabitants.
