Our new visiting artist, Julie Forgues from Canada will have an artist lecture on 4/15 14:00-15:00 at 阿波和紙伝統産業会館 The Hall of Awa Handmade Japanese Paper.
Her work explores how the in-between a landscape is a space in itself, a space that is in limbo between what was and what will be to from the idea of an in-between space in a landscape where nature and culture are in an indeterminate state in a transformation process. This midpoint should be understood as a space, as an in-between space neither in the nature nor in the culture. Being an integral part of our conceptions of landscapes, they are thus as important to the understanding of the before-space and the after-space, hence of the idea of space itself. Her work make this process and this in-between space visible.
Please come join us to listen to her artist talk.
Looking forward to seeing you!
