Joe Sacco was one of 250 soldiers who liberated the Dachau concentration camp on April 29, 1945. On April 22, his son, Jack Sacco, will speak about his father’s journey from Alabama farm boy to heroic soldier at the historic liberation, as detailed in his Pulitzer Prize-nominated book, Where the Birds Never Sing. SAJSS is proud to partner with the HMMSA for this event.
The event features Jack Sacco’s talk at 3pm in the Holzman Auditorium, followed by a book signing at 4:30pm at the HMMSA (both located at The Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Campus of the Jewish Community). Tickets are $5. To RSVP or for more information please visit: sajss.com/JackSacco or call (210) 616-4811.
