Most of us have heard of birth doulas, and now there are death doulas. Join Trish Rux, RN, CHPN for an exploration of the role of the doula at the end of life.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
After many nursing roles, Trish Rux found her calling in the inpatient hospice unit. She recently trained as an end-of-life doula and shares the commonalities and differences in those roles.
Her nursing career includes positions in Urgent Care, Primary Care, Quality Improvement, and Hospice. Her work in nursing is holistic, bringing body, mind, and spirit to the highest good. She is a member of Healing Beyond Borders, American Holistic Nurses Association, and the Blue Ridge Holistic Nurse Chapter of the
American Holistic Nurse Association.
Trish is a life-long learner holding certifications in Focused
Awareness Meditation, Hospice and Palliative Care, Healing Touch, and Beyond Surgery. She most recently completed certification as an end-of-life Sacred Passage Doula.
Trish is also certified in Healing Touch and Focused Awareness Meditation and is currently pursuing training in essential oils.
