Texas has the highest number of pregnancy-related deaths not just in the United States, but in the entire developed world. A state task force has identified some of the reasons why Texas is failing its new mothers, but more research is needed. Our panel will discuss some of the contributing factors on why women of all races are dying up to a year after childbirth, why the maternal mortality rates are so high in Texas, and what can be done to reverse this alarming trend. A question and answer session will follow.
