Join the Florentine Arts Ensemble as they present a programme of music inspired by our temporary exhibition, Lighting Up the Stage: Stars of the Georgian Theatre. This recital will explore the challenges facing the performing artist in 18th Century England. Particularly the public's attitude toward music and the theatre, and the development of what became accepted as 'culture' in society.
Florentine Arts Ensemble is an exciting and highly innovative venture which seeks to break away from the established concept of the ‘concert platform’, towards exploring the relationship between music and the visual arts at some of the U.K’s leading concert venues, art galleries and museums. Challenging the traditional view that these two art forms are separate, the Florentine Arts Ensemble engages the audience through the discussion and performance of related music to enlighten, inform, and inspire. £6
