Join us for a secular mindfulness meditation at the Humanist Hub.
In this meditation, we will cultivate an attitude of Letting Go. Thoughts that we just can't let go, even though we don't want to get caught up in, are like a banana in a coconut used as a trap for monkeys in India. In this meditation, we will practice letting go and coming back to an anchor like our breath. Realizing that Letting Go means Letting Things Be as they are. Jon Kabat-Zinn talk about the concept here:
There will be a discussion after the meditation
We provide cushions and chairs. There is no charge.
No previous experience with meditation is necessary. RSVP's are appreciated but not required.
Our meditations have been collected into a book published by New World Library: Secular Meditation: Practices for Cultivating Inner Peace, Compassion, and Joy.
