A Benefit for Hurricane Relief honoring the music of Tom Petty
Last fall, the combination of the devastation of the September hurricanes and the death of Tom Petty led a small group of local musicians to want to do something positive to both honor Petty's music and help out people in need. A Higher Place benefit concert series (named after a Petty song) was pulled together to accomplish just that. Over 30 musicians are covering an evening of Tom Petty's hits and album cuts that South County music lovers will appreciate as they help out our fellow citizens who were and are still affected by the hurricane damage. The proceeds of the event will be directed to All Hands and Hearts - a Massachusetts nonprofit that focuses on disaster relief in Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands and Texas.
