As part of a three-day American Flat Track racing extravaganza (which includes the Black Hills Short Track two days later), the Buffalo Chip TT on August 5, 2018, stands alone as the most unique race in AFT’s nearly 100-year history.
Built by seven-time Grand National Champion Chris Carr, the half-mile track features a wildly divergent layout, one that winds through the center of the venue’s legendary amphitheater and directly below the Buffalo Chip's famous Wolfman Jack Stage. Fans are able to watch the races from various bars and elevated platforms surrounding the track and look down upon the motorcycles as they roar past. The track also features two right-hand corners and superb track-side viewing, which allows fans to get up close and personal to the bar-banging action.
In last year’s inaugural Buffalo Chip TT it was Zanotti Racing’s Briar Bauman grabbing the AFT Twins win over 2017 series champ Jared Mees and Jake Johnson. Hayden Gillim took home AFT Singles glory over Dan Bromley and Jesse Janisch. Who will win this year is a mystery. But given the great riders, electric atmosphere and unique track layout, it’s going to be a heckuva lot of fun to find out. Don’t miss this!
