The Hermanus Business Chamber herewith cordially invites you to the launch of the “Journey to Service Excellence” - a Project of the Western Cape Department of Economic Development & Tourism, in Association with Overstrand Municipality and Tourism, Local newspapers and Whale Coast FM.
It will take place at the Pavillion restaurant, Marine Hotel, in the form of a Brunch and presentation, followed by networking, on Thursday 19th April from 11:00 – 13:00. If time allows, Chamber members will have the opportunity to introduce themselves. If you bring a prize for the Lucky Draws, you will get the opportunity to hand it over and market your business for a minute or two.
The Aim is to encourage a culture of Service Excellence in Hermanus, and reward Service Heroes who go the extra mile to offer an excellent service in their field. Cash prizes will be handed over to the winners during a Gala Awards Ceremony later this year by DEDAT Minister Alan Winde. The strategic intent is to boost the attractiveness of the region.
The programme will develop a service excellence-orientated culture and has 3 components:
1. A Leadership Workshop for managers of businesses to enhance the level of Service Excellence in Hermanus.
2. Several workshops for employees to develop and sharpen their levels of service delivery.
3. A Radio/ media competition where the Community of Hermanus and visitors to the area can nominate their Service Heroes. This will culminate in a prestigious Awards Ceremony later this year.

Who can receive Service Excellence training? Managers and employees from any business, eg. Restaurants, Hotels/ Guest Houses/ /Petrol Stations/ Banks/ Retail Shops/ Auto dealers/ Transport/ Nurseries/ Attorneys/ Pharmacies/ Medical Practitioners, etc.
Some training elements to be covered: The workshops are aligned to the SABS Standard on Service Excellence (SANS 1197) and will cover marketing in tourism, quality assurance, customer service and service delivery, monitoring and evaluation techniques.
When do the workshops start? How long is the programme? The training will take place between June and August 2018 . It is a 4-day training progamme over two weeks. There will be 2 modules covered over 2 days and the next 2 modules covered in a following week.
