In conjunction with The Music Center’s presentation of Cuba: Antes, Ahora / Then, Now—and the Annenberg Space for Photography’s exhibit Cuba Is—this event features a panel discussion and live demonstrations by artists and musicians whose work is vital and relevant to the Cuban arts scene of today.

Pancho Amat, master musician of the tres guitar, Yissy Garcia, innovative percussionist in both traditional Cuban rhythms and 21st century jazz styles and Telmary Diaz, inventive rapper, musician and spoken-word artist, demonstrate their craft and technique. The panel includes producers from Cuban-based artist management company 4C Producciones, Darsi Fernández Maceira, entertainment producer and attorney, Yoana Grass Recio, founder and Rafael González Escalona, journalist and art critic. Moderated by Betto Arcos, DJ, radio journalist and professor, the discussion explores Cuba’s dynamic arts and culture scene and the evolution from its historical roots to its modern interpretations.

This event is FREE but ticket reservations are required. Space is limited. First come, first served. SOLD OUT.
