Join Shelly from Hooked on the Prairies for this two evening introductory Rug Hooking class.
Rug hooking is a simple, traditional craft that was originally born out of necessity by women making rugs using burlap backing and old wool clothing to warm the cold floors of their farmhouse.
Come and connect with other creative souls and learn a modern day approach to this traditional craft…that is still simple and easy to learn! Over the two evenings, we will learn the basics on how to pull loops and create a classic Prairie landscape piece. The first evening you will learn the basics of rug hooking including selection of materials and tools. You will be able to take your piece home with you to work on between classes if desired. The second evening we will continue to work on the piece and learn some finishing techniques.
Class fee: $50.00
Materials fee: $30.00 for materials (includes backing and all wool for the piece). Payable to instructor on the first night (cash, credit card or debit). You will also be provided with a frame and a hook for your use during the duration of the course. These will be available for purchase through the shop after the course if desired.
Call or come in to register.
If you wish to cancel, you must do so 48 hours prior to the class start date to receive a full refund.
