THE MECHANICAL TALES return to Bristol and fresh from a residency in the Italian Alps they will be performing a whole new live set
"Accompanying the listener through their emotional imaginary. Sound and images create a spectacle of vivid suggestion"
Lucia Violetta Gasti, Juliette and Lloyd Sinatra are from Udine, Italy; the so-called "capital of the war" and produce cinematic music with post-atomic vibes.
Being involved for many years in the Italian experimental music scene with other bands, they decided to create this musical project in 2012 and have since produced and released their albums, promoted their works and tours across Europe independently with a DIY approach.
Just like a soundtrack to a cinematographic film, they work closely with the video medium including collaborations alongside several visual artists. In 2014 they met Eleonora Sovrani, a video artist whose focus lies in the relationship between visual language, social dynamics and artistic practice. This close collaboration gave birth to many performative, intermedial, audiovisual live pieces, installations as well as two LPs: Iceberg (October 2015, self-released) and About Fallout (February 2017, self released)
MY OCTOPUS MIND
My Octopus Mind are an experimental rock band with sprinklings of contemporary classical jazz, folk influences, plus an injection of Balkan spirit.
In the past they have composed and performed live music for a theatrical circus show called "The Creator”, a silent film, (Nosferatu) and a short animation as part of Channel 4's Random Acts.
Having played a range of festivals including Shambala, Bimble, SGP, Smallworld and Glastonbury, they are currently putting the finishing touches to their first full album to be released in the autumn of 2018.
