‘’Music has the has no boundaries, it has a power to connect people irrespective of colour, origin or language. Music is a language on its own, and it demands humility, friendship, trust, energy and, most of all, the heart for it to perform its function’.” – Feya Faku
John Kordalewski and Feya Faku met after the concert Faku did with Uhadi – an SA band that was touring the US at the time. That, on its own, is the power of song and sound too.
The two musicians exchanged contacts and music, which led to John inviting Faku to perform with his Makanda project. They also did Quartet concerts under Faku’s Name and music.
Now, Kordalewski will be in South Africa on a Mission to arrange some of Faku’s music that will be performed in future by the Makanda Project, for which he leads and arranges music.
