At The Peninsula Manila, “Happily Ever After” is a 42-year-old promise kept

2018 marks the 42nd year since The Peninsula Manila hosted its first wedding reception at the Rigodon Ballroom, and to celebrate this milestone event, the hotel is partnering with Rita Neri Event Planners and the best and the brightest in the Philippine wedding industry for Weddings at The Peninsula 2018 on Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Planning a wedding is a mammoth task, involving a great deal of research and extensive preparation. The Peninsula Manila and Rita Neri Event Planners promise to take away some of the stress by offering couples a unique bridal experience where they can meet the most exclusive purveyors, showcasing tabletops, wedding cakes, flowers, bridal gowns and formal wear, jewelry, shoes, home furniture and accessories, art, photography and video art, limousines and helicopters, and honeymoons, all spiced up with a dash of Peninsula style and savoir faire.

The love affair begins at The Lobby, where the grand staircases will be garlanded with masses of flowers. Collaborating with two floral artists who are currently at the top of their game – Teddy Manuel and Zenas Pineda – The Peninsula Manila Creative Director Anna Fay Rosal promises that their floral installations with hundreds upon hundreds of blooms will make brides swoon with delight.

The Upper Lobby will be transformed into a luxe pop-up space offering a glittering showcase of stunning jewelry from Jewelmer, Bvlgari, Charriol and Denovo Diamonds; honeymoon destinations from nine Peninsula hotels and Amanpulo; works of art from Salcedo Auctions; holistic vacations at The Farm in San Benito; a capsule collection from Rosa Clara; lifestyle selections from Pottery Barn and West Elm, and more.

The Conservatory will feature a carefully curated gathering of the country’s most exclusive wedding suppliers whose seasoned advice are an invaluable resource when planning one of the most important moments in a young couple’s life.

At 6:00 pm on June 9, The Lobby will showcase a fashion parade of stunning bridal wear by acclaimed Filipino designers Mark Bumgarner, Michael Leyva, , Mak Tumang, Joey Samson, and Jesus “Jojie” Lloren that promises to be an incomparable experience combining the passion of designers, the intimacy of a boutique and the beauty of bridal fashion.

“The Weddings at The Peninsula brand is known to be one of the most beautiful bridal fairs in the Philippines” says Mark J. Choon, General Manager of The Peninsula Manila, “and our partnership with Ms. Rita Neri promises to deliver on that promise and more.”

“We are proud of the reputation we have built over more than four decades as an exceptional wedding venue. I think this stems from the fact that we approach every wedding celebration as an adventure, so whether it’s a traditional ceremony or a themed extravaganza, we make it a point to deliver on our promise to make a couple’s wedding day an unforgettable moment in their life,” he adds.

Mr. Choon also says that Weddings at The Peninsula 2018 will be different from other weddings fairs because the highly curated experience will feature talks on art as investment by Richie Lerma of Salcedo Auctions, a lifestyle section on home furnishings by Pottery Barn, Jewelmer will explain the timeless allure of the Philippine South Sea Pearl and the fashion show of bridal gowns at The Lobby is an event that has happened only twice in the entire 42-year history of the hotel.

“While it’s true that weddings take place every day, we believe that yours happens only once in a lifetime, so there is no such thing as too perfect – not when you are planning what is most likely the most memorable day of your life,” he quips. “You promise to love and to cherish. We at The Peninsula promise to make your wedding day unforgettable.”

Weddings at The Peninsula 2018 would not be possible without the support of sponsors Jewelmer, Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, Mastercard, Lexus, Pottery Barn, Bvlgari, Denovo Diamonds, Charriol, Asian Aerospace, Jimmy Choo, and Salcedo Auctions.
