Rock Stars, a 118 minute documentary video written and directed by Vern Stefanic, Director of Administration & Programs for AAPG, celebrates individual courage, tenacity, and professionalism. Rock Stars gives insights into social and political changes over more than a century of the growth of the oil industry. The social structure outside this profession amplified the struggle for equality over time: the inability to vote, the dictate that women should not work outside the home when married, the practice of lower pay for equal work, the scarcity of advancement opportunities, and the lack of recognition in some companies and associations. Join us for a glimpse into the stories of women who paved the road for female scientists in the petroleum industry.
