In the summer of 2017 Michael participated in the Urban Doxology Urban Songwriting Internship Program. Urban Doxology is a ministry that writes the soundtrack of reconciliation in the racially diverse and gentrifying neighborhood of Church Hill, Richmond, VA. The band evolved out of the Urban Songwriting Internship Program that is a partnership with Arrabon and East End Fellowship. Most of band members are an active part of East End Fellowship, a community that endeavors to be a faithful presence seeking God’s joy and justice for their neighborhood out of love for Christ. Urban Doxology is a ministry of Arrabon.
Michael Anderson is an experienced composer and piano performer. His original compositions encompass works in multiple genres, including Classical, New Age, Folk, Electronic/Pop and Indie/Electronic. He received a Masters in composition from North Carolina School of the Arts and currently works as a composer in residence at Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Winston-Salem and an independent audio designer for video games.
The Ramkat is a Community Art Space & Music Hall in the north end of downtown Winston-Salem.
