Saturday 21st of April is International Record Store Day 2018. It’s shaping up to be ... well, basically we're having a big ol' party 🙂 to celebrate all things Indie vinyl, but especially the hundreds of exclusive records that are being released on that day.
Launching you softly from 9am until midday it's quality crate diggin' time with minimal distraction, while outside you'll find Sindy Sinn knocking up a beautiful new piece of street art on our front wall
We kick of the festivities at midday with in-store DJs, give-aways and beer, an outdoor free BBQ and an across-the-road Record Fair.
Starring, on our wheels of steel from 12pm - 5pm: Adi Toohey, The Rev Dr Grooveshoes, Jmez, Flux 33 & Ritual, mixing up a broad selection of quality wax with complimentary beverages generously provided by the The Grifter Brewing Company.
Throughout the day you'll be challenged to play heads or tails to win free Audio-Technica Australia goodies and for those of you who spend more than $100, you'll cop a free slipmat designed by the one-and-only Shasta Marcelo (who, incidentally, is responsible for all our art this year).
Out front, our host-with-the-most, Tom Whittle, will be cooking on all burners to feed ya'll with a free BBQ, while across the road we're co-hosting a record fair with our pals, Cafe Lounge. Here, Kato will be your maitre d', connoisseur and vinyl pimp all while you down $5 beers from behind Sydney's funkiest bar.
Wax vendors on the day include: Kali, Daniel Lupica, Steven Sullivan (Chubby), Mike Who, Low Flung, Jackson, Sydney Pony Club and, of course, Barney Or Kato himself. (There are also still a few spots left so if you have a crate of wax to sell, get in touch).
Lastly, but not really, it's not possible to give you a list of the vinyl releases we will be getting in until the night before because we literally have no idea what we are getting out of what we have ordered. That's just the way it works, and there ain't nothing we can do about it.
The list will be posted here Friday 20th April at some stage :)
