Presenting the first in a series of events from Plantlife.
We will be taking over The Reeds to curate an evening of soothing ambient music to put your mind at ease. Artists will have the opportunity to showcase the gentler, more introspective sides of their tastes, something neglected when playing in clubs. Expect cushions, comfort, stunning visuals and ambience. Allow our talented bunch to take you on a journey out of your body and through your mind.
For those that can't make it to the cushion jungle, Side Sound will be streaming the whole event live.
Entry will be free, although we encourage you to make a suggested donation of £3, with all money raised going towards mental health charity Mind.
Talented, eclectic selector gone Melodic Distraction radio host will take you through her cosm of weird and wonderful ambient leaning sounds. You can hear her assured take on cuts of the human voice below, its been on repeat here at HQ.
After quietly making a name for himself over the years, Padawan Sound has become a staple figure of the Leeds music scene, playing his signature blend of techno, bass and dubstep at parties across the city. Most importantly, providing the inspiration for this event Padawan Sound runs his own ambient event Think Tank. Its perhaps the most precious, intimate event we can think of so we're thrilled to have him come and bless our own launch with his serene selections.
Ranga will be playing live with a special guest... Expect the unexpected (and luscious drones). Ranga's percussive sets with hardware aplenty always hit the spot. We've asked him to strip it back even more with the help of a trusted accomplice - we can't wait to see what they bring.
We'll be here to keep things ticking over, ensuring everyone feels as relaxed as possible and providing music to ease you into a plant like state.
Special thanks to our visual artists for all the help and support.
The stunning artwork is by Benjamin Craven.
Visuals on the night will provided by the talented Dickie Christmas.
