Celebrate Children’s Book Week at the Quick Center for the Arts! Married authors Jessica Kensky and Patrick Downes and their black lab service dog named Rescue will present the release of their new book, Rescue & Jessica: A Life-Changing Friendship, illustrated by Scott Magoon.

Kensky and Downes will speak to Fairfield Elementary school children in Grades 2 and 3 during two sessions. Rescue & Jessica is based on a real-life partnership and a heartening story of the love and teamwork between a girl and her service dog that will illuminate and inspire. Jessica Kensky and Patrick Downes, who each lost legs in the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing and have a service dog named Rescue, affectingly weave fact and fiction in their debut book, Rescue & Jessica.
