Applying Anatomy to Asana: Refine Your Practice

In this module, we will deepen our understanding of functional anatomy, specifically as it applies to yoga asana and injury management, and develop a more nuanced understanding of how we should be doing certain poses and why.

Participants can expect to:
-Deepen your understanding of ball-and-socket joints and how the pelvis and spine move in relation to one another.
-Learn how to work more safely and effectively with the hip and shoulder joints and the spine in yoga asana.
-Learn to work with knee, hip and shoulder dysfunction, pain and injury;
-Develop a more nuanced, skillful understanding of asanas, including Warrior I and Warrior II-family poses, twisting poses, backbends and forward bends.

This module will incorporate some lecture, as well as complete asana practices, posture break-downs, and partner work.
