Souf is an evening of all new original compositions by local Seattle artists presented by percussionist Ruby Dunphy. The night ranging from dance to free jazz to film to punk rock, these compositions are the works of: Ruby Dunphy, Kathy Moore, Tom Varner, Ameila Coulter, Kate O'Day, Colleen Rose Trundy, and Trevor O'laughlin. Souf will be the conclusion to Ruby Dunphy's four years at Cornish College of the Arts.
Chicago native, Seattle based percussionist Ruby Dunphy has been pursing music full time since she picked up drum sticks at age 10. Graduating from Chicago High school for the Arts and Merit School of Music in 2014, she has been extensively studying jazz, classical, chamber and world percussion for over 8 years (while also playing in unsanitary basements during this time). In her final semester of Cornish College of the Arts, she will graduate and embark on life on the road with her band Thunderpussy.
