Are you looking for a job for the summer? We will be holding open interviews from 11am-3pm on Wednesday April 4th at The Schooner Restaurant and Lounge on Netarts Bay. We are looking for all positions both Front of House and Back of House. Please bring with you a resume as well as contact information for at least two professional references. Job descriptions are as follows:

There has been a lot of buzz lately about The Schooner and there's good reason why. There is inspiration and creativity behind everything that we do. We are passionate about the food we serve and the experience we create for each and every guest that walks through our door, whether they are just here to try one of our hand crafted cocktails and a cup of chowder, or to enjoy the full dining experience while watching the tide roll in on the bay.
With spring and summer just around the corner, we are looking to expand our team. If you share in our love of all things food, drink & customer service, we might just have a job for you!
What we are looking for:

Front of house:
Host/Busser- Bright and bubbly people persons step right up! Our hosts are usually the first interaction that our guests have and can set the tone for the entire dining experience. We are looking for applicants who are assertive enough to control the crowds while remaining friendly and accommodating. Good communications skills are a must! Hosts share in many responsibilities of the restaurant including but not limited to greeting and seating guests, delivering standard table set ups, assisting with bussing and resetting tables, & refilling beverages.

Servers- Our servers embrace the atmosphere of The Schooner. With a menu as unique as ours, it is important for our servers to not only enjoy the food we serve, but to educate themselves on the complexity of each dish. Customers relish in the fact that we work so closely with local farms and vendors and they have lots of questions. Our servers are expected to be professional, level-headed and motivated. Previous experience is preferred but is not a substitute for a positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Back of House:
Prep Cooks- Have we mentioned yet that we are passionate about food? Our prep cooks lay the foundation for each and every dish that we serve. Their love of food is just as essential as the chef who is preparing it and the server who is selling it. We are looking for applicants with a willingness to expand their palate, step out of their comfort zone, and make magic in the kitchen.

Line Cooks- Our business level has the potential to go from zero to a million in a matter of minutes. The line cooks that man our kitchen have the ability to work well under pressure, creating a consistently accurate dish no matter the business level. Sense of urgency and attention to detail are a must for our ideal applicants. Above all, you must love to cook. If you provide us with this, we can provide you with the tools to succeed and expand your knowledge in the industry.

Dishwasher- This is no easy job. Our dishwashers are proficient in the art of multi-tasking. They too see the high demands of a restaurant whose business level can fluctuate drastically in a matter of minutes and are well adjusted to going with the flow.
