Join us for this special introductory offer to Circle Dancing.

‘Circle Dancing is fun, gentle movement to wonderful music from all over the world.’

Circle Dancing is about enjoying yourself, and exercising in a gentle, fun way with support from others around you.

Because you are dancing in a circle, there is support from the rest of the group, and a sense of community quickly builds up. Joy and laughter are the main aim!

Dance styles can vary hugely, from meditative/reflective to more energetic and will be tailored to the individual needs of the group. Each dance will be taught thoroughly, and there is no such thing as a wrong step, just variations! We will start simply and gradually build up to more complex steps, depending on ability.

You need to wear shoes (although bare foot is an option if preferred) and clothes that you can comfortably dance in, and a sense of openness, particularly if circle dancing is new to you.

About Jen

Jen was born in Essex but has lived in many areas of the country, with a varied career, mostly in community work. She currently works as a gardener, clerks in two parish councils and is a private music teachers in addition to running circle dancing groups.

She started doing international folk dancing in her 20's at a time when it was all very new and continued this 'circle' dancing wherever she moved to, loving the variety of music and the chance to try out dances from all over the world.

Jen enjoys teaching and loves seeing others experience circle dancing, usually for the first time. The process of assimilating the steps through working as a group and building a sense of community, through laughter as the group invent 'variations,' and fun is very rewarding!

She relishes the challenge of adapting the steps for those with more limited mobility, including those confined to a chair and has done a lot of work in WI/social groups and residential homes. It is very satisfying to see people who thought their dancing days were over moving to stimulating music.

The cost is £15 per person (incl. refreshments). Concessions are available.

All workshops require a minimum number to run. If this number is not reached the workshop will be cancelled. If cancellation is required, at least 3 days notice will be given.
