In this workshop you will enjoy the sweet serenity of deep relaxation.
Yoga Nidra is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping, also known as yogic sleep. It is among the deepest possible states of relaxation while still maintaining full consciousness. The concept roots from ancient Indian tradition, as a practice of opening to the deeper phases of the mind; promoting internal healing and reduction of tension and anxiety. This uniquely relaxed state produces brain waves that allow one hour of practice to be the equivalent of four hours of sleep.
Your experience will begin with Yin Yoga postures, which will allow you to more fully relax and let go into Restorative poses, that will prepare your body for meditation. After finding comfort in a supported Shavasana, with blankets and bolsters, we will begin Yoga Nidra. This practice is a guided meditation, taking you step by step to a blissful state of relaxation; allowing you to experience “a conscious awareness of deep sleep”.
No meditation or yoga experience is necessary; the only thing you‘ll need is an open mind.
