A presentation by Palaeontologist Ray Chatterji. Dinosaurs are some the most charismatic and iconic group of animals, playing a starring role in both science and film. Our image of dinosaurs has radically changed within the past few decades, changing from giant sluggish lizards to active, complex and sometimes feathered animals. But how do palaeontologists know what dinosaurs looked like? Discover the techniques used to reconstruct these long dead animals, from stones over 65 million years old to the fascinating animals that captivate millions cross the world. Using techniques both old and new scientists can now reconstruct dinosaurs with astonishing detail, from muscles, to feathers, to even colour. There’s never been a more exciting time to learn about dinosaurs!
