April is recognized internationally as Jazz Appreciation Month. Please join us at the new Filament performing arts space + listening lounge as we acknowledge the enduring legacy of this great American art form with an evening of special programming.

Featured will be a set of live jazz by some exciting young musicians who have a sincere love for the music. Danny Bauer (piano/Rhodes) will be joined by Zakk Jones (guitar) and Matthiessen Nitsch Quan (drums) to play selections by Thelonious Monk, Duke Ellington, and John Coltrane as well as some originals. Throughout the evening we will also be raffling off a number of classic jazz LPs and newer- release cds to those in attendance.

Filament is located within The Vanderelli Room art gallery which is just west of downtown in the 400 W. Rich / Franklinton neighborhood. Ample street parking is available. This same evening the Vanderelli Room is also hosting the monthly gathering "614 Artist Connect" so if you are in the creative community consider making an evening of both!

BYOB, $5-10 sliding scale admission.

P.S.-- can you identify all of the jazz musicians in this collage? Some are easy-- some....not so much! If you can identify at least 30 of the 40 we will give you weighted entry in the raffles! Click on the picture to bring the musicians into closer view.
