ABOUT BRITTNEY ROY:

Roy is an artist currently living in Edmonton, Alberta with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Alberta specialized in printmaking and drawing. She completed an independent artist residency at the Society of Northern Print Artists in Edmonton, AB and programmed residency at Artscape Gibraltar Point called Luminous Bodies on Toronto Island.

Her current studio practice explores intimate stranger interactions and the female body. Through a feminist lens she entertains storytelling derived from her observations of her own emotions in a humorous yet disturbing application. In her drawings she challenges the line between reality and fantasy by depicting exaggerated visuals that include body hair, tears and often text.

Career driven, Roy has explored various entrepreneurial ventures including, Creative Practices Institute and her current venture, The Creative Throb. She currently works in entrepreneurship education and runs an internal marketing agency at Northern Alberta Business Incubator.
