Learn to give and receive a deeply healing and rejuvenating massage in this fun and practical workshop. No need to come with a partner!
Thai massage is an ancient practice intended to heal and open up the body, and calm the mind. It involves massage as well as assisted stretching, which is why Thai massage is often called Thai Yoga Massage or Passive Yoga. It is deeply therapeutic for both the giver and the receiver.
Typical benefits include:
- Reduced stress and greater sense of calm
- Increased energy
- Enhanced flexibility and range of motion
- Improved circulation
- Focused and relaxed mind
In the workshop you will learn about the background and principles of Thai yoga massage and the different techniques and pressures we use in the massage. You will then give and receive an hour massage. During the massage, the receiver will lie on the floor, fully clothed, and the giver will use their thumbs, palms, elbows, lower arms and feet to press and stretch the receiver’s body. The receiver will relax whilst the giver concentrates their attention on the massage and works intuitively, easing into a focused and meditative state.
Thai yoga massage is beneficial for everyone, you don’t need to be a yoga practitioner or excel in any physical activities to participate in the workshop. All you need is some curiosity and the openness to have your healing touch on another human being.
Eva is a fully trained Thai massage therapist, having completed her training at Wat Pho in Bangkok. She is excited about sharing this beautiful practice with you.
