This workshop will be begin with a 30 min sequence of restorative postures to assist in calming the mind and body in preparation for a 90 min Yoga Nidra practice.
Yoga Nidra is the practice of Yogic Sleep. It is a guided meditation that takes you through the layers of the body known as the koshas. You will be taken on a journey out of your most active brain state (Beta) into your most relaxed state (Alpha). Yoga Nidra is profoundly beneficial in re-writing neuropathways to positively influence the mind to receive what we need to live happy and fulfilling lives.
In a supine position you will set a sankalpa or intention, followed by a journey through a rotation of consciousness that connects mind to physical body. This is followed by breath awareness and then a journey of opposites. Lastly, you will engage in a series of imagery and pure consciousness.
