Therapeutic Touch(R) (TT) is a holistic, evidence-based energy field healing therapy, also known as mindfulness practice in action. Common effects include:
Promoting a relaxation response (2-4 minutes from start of session)
Reducing anxiety, depression and stress
Alleviating and managing pain
Enhancing immune function
Fostering a sense of well being.
By the end of the training, participants will:
•Have gained a basic understanding of Therapeutic Touch, its history, and leading-edge scientific research that supports its use. and its various applications.
•Experience Therapeutic Touch healing sessions both as provider and receiver
•Appreciate and be able to apply specific techniques for wellness and the relief of pain and anxiety, through the use of imagery, colour and sound, mindful use of the breath.
•Gain an understanding of the nature and interrelationships of human energy fields in healing the principles they learned to improve their personal coping skills.
•Develop their ability to centre, learn to direct and modulate energy, learn about and apply colour and imagery in a Therapeutic Touch session
•Appreciate the importance of Self-care in healing
•Develop skills and the confidence to begin to practice Therapeutic Touch on family members, co-workers, patients and students, and themselves
Upon completion, participants receive a Therapeutic Touch Binder with workshop handouts, reading list and a Certificate of Participation.
