The MojoCats have created their soulful blues style through a process of honoring the masters such as B.B. King, Muddy Waters & Junior Wells, then mixed it with the Chicago drive of Buddy Guy & Paul Butterfield, and kept it all current with today’s Rock-n-blues influence of the Allman Bros, Taj Mahal, Tommy Castro and many more.
All of their music is done with an eye towards originality which creates a loyal group of fans stemming from our notable performances at events such as the Old Capitol Blues & BBQ, the Washington Street Jazz & Blues Fest, the Illinois Central Blues Club Challenge, the Bloomington Blues Club Competition, and the Luther Allison Memorial Blues Fest held in Peoria. More recent festivals include the Champaign Blues Brews and BBQ and Springfield's own SOHO Music Festival.
Members of the Mojo Cats have shared the stage with the likes of Shun Kikuta (Koko Taylor’s lead guitarist), Ana Popovic, Tommy Castro, Tab Benoit, Derek Trucks, Susan Tedeschi, and many others.
