Join us in celebrating Spring and Earth Day (one day early)! Third Root offers quarterly open house events with programming and services for community. Share a Spring tonic tea, wonderful company, and get an intro to our new and returning programming. Free prizes and vouchers for yoga classes will be available!

Open House Workshops:

*Traditional Thai Bodywork Demo with Emily (2 PM – 2:30)--
Come learn about this modality which is new to Third Root! Traditional Thai Bodywork has its origins in the yogic tradition and works primarily with the energy lines of the body to increase circulation, provide relaxation and relief.

*Traditional Thai Bodywork Mini Sessions with Emily (throughout the afternoon)

*Open Yoga Workshop with Shri Devi (2:30 – 3:30)

* Dandelion For Days! / Welcome Back to Herbal Ed at Third Root! with Angela (former collective member) and Avi Rose longtime TR community member (3:30 – 5 PM)

As herbalists, we often speak about using local herbal allies and weeds as medicine- Join us this Open House to learn about what all that means through the lens of one of our favorite springtime plants- Dandelion! We will explore various ways of understanding how Dandelion, an abundant weed round these parts, can be a most supportive ally in NYC; join us for discussion and samplings!

*Sign up for workshops and mini sessions on-site and in person only.*

SPACE ACCESS INFO:
We’re located at ground level with one step up to our main entrance and no steps at our wheelchair and scooter accessible entrance (please call ahead to arrange for someone to open the door). Our Community Room space where most programs occur is accessible for wheelchairs & scooters, as is our upstairs private treatment room. However, our bathroom is not currently wheelchair or scooter accessible. As a stop gap measure, accessible restrooms are available to our community across the street from the nearest intersection at Flatbush Food Co-Op,1415 Cortelyou Road.

Please note that scented oils and products are sometimes used as part of the modalities we practice, especially massage and herbal medicine. Third Root is never scent free - but our community room where yoga, community acupuncture, events, and workshops take place is low scent, though organic dried sage may be burned to energetically clear this spaces between sessions and classes. Treatment rooms have air filters regularly in use throughout the day. Our cleaning products are natural and scent-free whenever possible. We have simple filter masks available on request, but encourage those who may need a mask to bring your own.

Our practitioners, teachers and facilitators are invested in making your experience as accessible as possible. Please contact us for more information or to discuss your needs.
