The class will be taught at Third Street Cigar by Dr. Chuck Gbur and his wife, Carolyn. Both are cardiologists, NRA instructors, DSI Combative Firearms Instructors and Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) instructors. Chuck is DSI's VP of Tactical Medicine.
The money donated to attend this class will go to an organization called Magnificent Memories. This is a 501 3c non-profit that the Gbur's created initially as a memorial scholarship for their son Michael who committed suicide.
Today we live in a world where terrorism, the actions of unstable people, and the dangerous impulses of friends and relatives are very real and becoming increasingly more frequent.
Massive bleeding from any cause, but particularly from an active shooter or explosive event where a response is delayed can result in death. Similar to how the general public learns and performs CPR, the public must learn proper bleeding control techniques, including how to use their hands, dressings, and tourniquets. Victims can quickly die from uncontrolled bleeding, within five to 10 minutes.
However, anyone at the scene can act as an immediate responder and save lives if they know what to do.
Please contact Third Street Cigar to sign up for this class.
