Whitney Stewart, New Orleans' own, will be with us at Tibetan House to launch her new book, ‘Mindful Me’, written for nine to twelve year olds, and an inspiration for all ages. Whitney is also the author of ‘Mediation is Open Sky: Mindfulness for Kids’ and ‘Mindful Kids: 50 Mindfulness Activities for Kindness, focus and calm, a set of 50 colorful cards. About Mindful Me
Sometimes kids' lives can get busy and out of control, and worries can take over. When that happens, knowing how to pause and regain composure with mindfulness can help! This easily digestible guide introduces kids to mindfulness as a way to find clarity, manage stress, handle difficult emotions, and navigate personal challenges. With over 30 breathing, relaxation, and guided meditation exercises, including stepby-step instructions, readers will have an entire toolkit at their disposal, and writing prompts will help them process their discoveries.
In the activity book, kids will learn to settle their thoughts and look inward through a series of fun writing prompts, games, and meditation exercises. About Whitney Stewart
Whitney Stewart will travel far for a story. She’s trekked in the Himalaya with Sir Edmund Hillary and visited remote Buddhist monasteries in Nepal, Tibet, Myanmar, and Japan. She’s interviewed Nobel laureates, sat for days in meditation retreats, and even been a puppeteer and salad chef in France. She is the author of travel stories, multiple children’s books, and when she is not writing or traveling, she teaches mindfulness and meditation to children.
