-CHESS CLOCK RULES-
For those of you who've played at Bel Air Games recently, we're going to try using their chess clock rules for the sake of standardization between stores!
We will be using chess clocks for this event, with the following rules: Each player starts the game with 75 minutes. Deployment and scoring are NOT TIMED, the clocks should be paused during these actions. Consequences for timing out are that you may no longer perform game actions or make any decisions, you may only make rolls as required (ex. saves, leadership). IN ADDITION to the chess clocks, there is a 165 minute (2:45) round timer, which TAKES PRECEDENCE over any remaining chess clock time either player may have. At the end of the 2:45 round timer, any actions in progress cease immediately and the game is over, points are calculated as though you had skipped to the end of the battle round.
If you ever for any reason feel your opponent is playing unreasonably slowly after you've asked them to pick it up, I beg you, please pause your timer and call me over. I will give time extensions for judge calls if necessary, and will actively monitor the game to ensure a reasonable pace of play. Conscious stalling has no place at a tournament, is an ejectable offense, and I don't want any players feeling they have no recourse against possibly intentional slow play.
Quick FAQ statement: The Codex: Adeptus Custodes FAQ point regarding the Ever Vigilant strategem will be applied to all identical strategems and instances of the phrase "as if it were the shooting phase" for the purposes of targeting models with the Character keyword (e.g. Auspex Scan, Superior Intelligence, etc)
Counts-as policy is as follows: Reasonable conversions are acceptable replacements for existing models, but any counts-as models must use the correct base dimensions and be similar size to an existing model for that unit.
If you have questions or are skeptical of anything, please do not hesitate to contact your TO, Nick Thompson, or the Titan store page, both here on Facebook, we love getting feedback of any kind!
