Run by Darren Joy; British Canoeing Home NationTrainer and Level 5 Coach, this award is designed for paddlers who aspire to, or work in Advanced white water environments.

In addition, the training is required for those seeking their BC Advanced leader (white water) award.

The objective is to provide the underpinning knowledge and teach safe practical skills that can be applied appropriately.

A great course for all grade 3/4 white water kayakers and Spec open canoeists

COURSE AIMS:

- To improve individuals awareness of safety skills in the advanced river environment
- To further develop personal survival skills
- To develop and practice advanced rescue techniques
- To develop and practice the need for structure in advanced emergency situations
- To outline advanced rescue protocols that prioritise the safety of the individual above all others

PRE-REQUISITES

- BCU WWSR
- Moving water experience of grade 3/4
- Ability to swim
