Our class includes lecture on how to think smart, decision making skills, and awareness with self-defense and empowerment in mind. We typically have a police officer come in and talk about survivor stories and some of the things to do to prevent being a victim.
Then we work on practical applications and practice how to use them. To be prepared in case of attack, you need practice, practice, practice. We will work on releases, how to get away from a grab, a choke, if pushed to the ground, etc. We will work on strikes – how and where. Practice will make the techniques you learn second nature and the reaction to an attack quicker. You will end the class with a mock attack that you need to get away from. (all in a safe environment)
