URINETOWN: THE MUSICAL, with music by Mark Hollmann, lyrics by Hollmann and Greg Kotis, and book by Kotis, is set in a town plagued by a 20-year drought, where water has become so scarce that the government enacted a ban on private toilets. Citizens must pay fees to carry out their most private need. If the poor don’t obey the strict laws prohibiting free urination, they’ll be sent to the dreaded and mysterious “Urinetown.” After too long under the heel of the malevolent Urine Good Company, the poor stage a revolt, fighting tooth and nail for the freedom to pee “wherever you like, whenever you like, for as long as you like, and with whomever you like.”
Rehearsals for URINETOWN will start Sunday, April 29 and will continue through Thursday, June 14. Most rehearsals will start at 7 pm. Performances run June 15 through 24.
